Sent Ones Network

Explainer Video

We had the privilege of designing and animating this video for the SentOnes Network, which is a Christian organization that provides community and resources to help Christians live more missional lives.

The founder approached us with a script for an animated video to promote their SentOnes workbook, a course designed to help Christians discover God’s calling on their lives. It communicated their mission and vision, and laid out a compelling case for why this kind of focused discovery work was not only important but necessary for living out our calling as followers of Jesus.

The video required distilling complex ideas into visual representations, and for us this meant thinking through many things from a purely symbolic perspective. We focused intensely on the core ideas behind concepts like what it means to be a masterpiece, our greatest desires, counterfeit Christianity, and many more, to find the most effective way to visually communicate them.

Ultimately, we aimed to visually represent the script SentOnes provided in such a way that it motivated viewers to reflect on the ideas presented and inspired them to engage with SentOnes Network!

The founder was thrilled with the final product. Shortly after receiving the video, he called to express how awesome he thought it was and how grateful he was for the work! It has since been used on the front page of their website SentOnesNetwork.org, and to promote the their mission and workbook on social media.

Behind the Video

Storyboard

A big part of the process for creating this video was involved in the beginning, in the design phase, before any animation took place. In this phase, the script was paired with a storyboard, which presented a visual picture of how the video would turn out, and more importantly, how many of the themes and concepts in the video would be visually represented. This part was critical to make sure the video was carefully planned out, and the storyboard went through several iterations before the final version was arrived at.
